Terms of Service
By downloading or using Truffle, you agree to these terms. They're short on purpose.
Truffle is currently in public beta (V0). The software is provided free of charge during this period, may contain bugs, and is not covered by any SLA or uptime guarantee. Beta users who join the V1 waitlist will receive a free V1 license as a thank-you. V1 will become a paid commercial product (one-time $29 license, one Mac per key) with the same features at a higher quality bar.
License grant.
Truffle is licensed, not sold. During the beta, we grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, royalty-free license to install and use Truffle for personal or internal business use on any Mac you own or control. You may not redistribute, resell, reverse-engineer, or use Truffle to build a competing product.
At V1, the license becomes a paid perpetual license for one Mac per purchased key. You may move your license between Macs using the in-app "Deactivate This Mac" button.
What Truffle does with your files.
Truffle reorganizes files on your Mac according to rules and categorizations you configure. Every move is journaled and reversible from within the app. We do not transmit, copy, or upload your files or file metadata anywhere outside your Mac. See the Privacy Policy for full details.
"As-is" and limitation of liability.
Truffle is provided as-is, without warranty of any kind. While we take reasonable care to ensure file operations are safe and reversible, you use Truffle at your own risk and are responsible for maintaining your own backups.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising from your use of Truffle is limited to the amount you paid for the software (which, during the beta, is zero).
Support.
We provide best-effort support to beta users via email at support@truffle.app. Paid V1 users will have access to the same support channel plus an expanded help center at docs.truffle.app.
Refund policy (V1 only).
At V1 launch, we will offer a 14-day full refund on any purchase for any reason. Refunded licenses are revoked; unlock features cease working within 7 days of the refund.
Changes to these terms.
We may update these terms over time. For material changes, we'll email V1 waitlist subscribers and update this page with a new "Last updated" date.
Governing law.
These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction where Truffle's legal entity is domiciled. If a dispute arises that we can't resolve informally, it will be handled in the courts of that jurisdiction.
